Home Schooling

I have never really thought about home schooling until a girl in my grade was withdrawn today to be home schooled.

I guess it would be fun b/c you wouldn’t have to worry about people stealing your pencils. You wouldn’t have to get dressed in the morning :). You could sleep in!!! You wouldn’t have to try to avoid the gum under the desks or the mysterious blue stuff on the corner of the booth at lunch. That part would be okay.

But what about your friends? You would never get to see them during the day when you are done with your work and are bored, they would be at school. You couldn’t text them- well, some of them anyway- during the day. I’m sure you probably get the same education but I know that your parents aren’t certified so they can’t teach you like a teacher can. I know some people that are home schooled and they say that all they do is worksheets. To me that would be VERY boring!!!!! Also, you wouldn’t meet and new people, wouldn’t make any new friends! And when your other friends come over and talk to you about the funny things that happened at school that day, you wouldn’t know what they were talking about!

I guess I really shouldn’t being talking all bad about it since I have never been home schooled but I just don’t think it is such a great thing to do…

*I know the person that was taken out (we used to be friends) and I know her mom (our moms were friends) and I bet her mom took her out b/c her grades were “slipping” and she was “skipping”. This same girl used to be an ‘A’ honor role student that was there everyday… Look how things change…

Freerice.com

There is a website called freerice.com and it is pretty much a vocabulary game. Well, I guess it really isn’t a game but still. You can do other things too besides grammar like foreign languages, math, paintings, etc.

For every answer you get right, the company will donate 10 grains of rice to somebody in a starving country (I think Africa, I am not sure). You may not think that 10 grains of rice is very much (it isn’t) but when you keep playing and answer 20 questions right, you are donating 200 grains of rice! And it keeps adding up!!!

You can create an account and track how many grains you have donated, also. Me and my friend (My friend and I if you wanna get fancy) have an account together and are trying to get between 500,000 and 1,000,000 grains of rice donated before the end of the year. We started are account in October and only have 22,000 (or so) grains of rice now. Yeah, we set the bar a little high but everyone needs high expectations! :)

So, now you know how to help with out leaving the comfort of your computer chair!

Rebloging

I don’t really see the point in rebloging… I guess so people that aren’t friends with that person can see whatever it was, but still. It isn’t you. You didn’t make it and you didn’t add your ow person touches. I guess some people love to do it, but as I was reading all the posts I missed, about 3/4ths of them were rebloged. For some reason that really bothered me… When I first made my tumblr account I don’t remember any of the posts being rebloged.

NOW, BETTER THAN ANYTHING ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!! *

*Not including anything better than it.
